Mark is the Chief Operating Officer of American Backflow Products Company, a national distributor of backflow assembly repair parts, testing equipment and accessories. It is also an industry leader in backflow repair information and technical assistance. American Backflow Products is based in Tallahassee, Florida.
He received his testing certificate from the University of Florida TREEO Center in 1988 at the age of 18. He also received a certificate for Backflow Repair and Maintenance from the TREEO Center in 1990.
Mark is currently a co-author of the “Repair Guys” article found each month in Backflow Prevention and Plumbing Standards.
He is also a member of the ABPA, USC, PHCC, AWWA, IAPMO, ASSE, AFSA and the National Fire Sprinkler Association.
In 2007 Mark received a certificate as an Advanced Backflow Assembly Tester from the University of Florida TREEO Center.
Backflow Preventer Assembly Repair Seminar
Objectives of Seminar:
- Learn the most current models of backflow prevention assemblies ¾”-12” sizes.
- Review basic troubleshooting techniques of the reduced pressure principle assembly and double check valve assembly.
- Develop a guideline for the repair process.
- Identify and learn the function of the internal components.
- Step by step instruction on the disassembly and repair the RPA, DCA, RPDA, DCDA and PVB. (Manufacturer and model specific)

Backflow Preventer Assembly Repair Training
Objectives of Training:
Discuss the factors that help us determine whether a backflow preventer should be repaired or if it needs to be replaced.
- Develop a general guideline for the repair of backflow assemblies. This guideline will include information and tips on how to make the repair process more efficient and successful.
- Discuss ways we can simplify the actual repair process. This will include step by step service procedures for the disassembly and repair of backflow assemblies.
